The template appointment is booked, but the sink is still a maybe and one cabinet hasn't been fixed in place. This is where a kitchen can turn an undecided detail into an expensive cutout. A short readiness check lets you keep the date, or move it for a good reason.
Ask the fabricator for their checklist
Caesarstone's project guidance describes preparing installed and aligned base cabinets and clearing the relevant work areas. The fabricator handling your material should confirm their exact prerequisites, including what must be on site.
Have the sink, tap, cooktop, accessories, and installation information available as the fabricator requests. Ask who approves each cutout and hole position. We check the tap behind the bowl with its handle moving and the drawers or bins below it shown on the plan. A hole can be in a sensible-looking place from above and still create a nuisance below the counter.
For an undermount bowl, confirm how the sink will be supported and who supplies the mounting detail. Include any conflict with drawers or bins before templating.
Settle the visible decisions now
Review overhangs, edge treatment, seam locations, backsplash boundaries, and any supports. Check the relationship to doors, drawers, windows, and appliances. A measurement appointment should not be expected to finish the kitchen design for you.
Freeze the dimensions that matter
- Cabinets installed, secured, and ready according to the fabricator.
- Sink and appliance specifications confirmed.
- Tap and accessory hole locations approved.
- Support and overhang details coordinated.
- Wall and backsplash conditions discussed.
If anything changes after templating, notify the fabricator before fabrication proceeds. Do not assume a small cabinet move is too minor to affect the result.
Keep the appointment as a measurement milestone, not a deadline for making rushed choices. A kitchen ready for templating is one whose remaining questions no longer change the shape of the countertop.
Include the refrigerator door swing beside a wall in the cabinet check. A late filler change can affect more than the appliance opening.
